Once again the “sphynx cat” has been tattooed in Russia. A Russian tattoo artist has given his pet cat a tattoo identical to the one inked on his chest.

Mr Rimut also has a tattoo of his cat on his forearm. The naturally hairless “sphynx cat tattoo” reads as “Carpe Diem”, Latin for “Seize the day”.

This “cat-tattoo” is identical to the one inked across the chest of owner Timur Rimut from Tatarstan, west of Moscow.

Moscow woman Oksana Popova had her cat sedated for three hours so a tattoo of the Egyptian pharoah Tutankhamun could be inked of its chest.

Thomas and Kristian were only in Christchurch for ONE DAY and Mana worked on these two awesome peices from 9 am until 2 am! After 17 hours in the studio, Thomas and Kristian flew back home to Norway at 7 am that morning!

Mattel have recently launched a Tattooed Barbie doll with a Flower Tattoo on her chest and a Tiger on her back! Maybe the ‘Tokidoki’ Barbie is a reflection of our social shift in perceptions & attitudes toward having Tattoos. Recent statistics show that 1 out of 4 Americans aged between 18 & 50 years have Tattoos and that trend is probably similar worldwide. Mattel say that the doll won’t be sold in stores but is being marketed to adults a collector’s item. One Parent’s comment was, “The doll may reflect some part of adult life – but what’s next, Rehab Barbie and Wife Beater Ken!!” We have observed that ever increasing – tasteful, good quality Skin Art is being embraced by discerning “middle class” members of modern society. No longer is there a stigma of Tattoos being associated only with Criminals and Sailors, as was the case many years ago!

On Wednesday 13th October, Zealand Tattoo ran an awesome promotion through a great website www.dailydo.co.nz.

The deal? $25 for $150′s worth of tattoo time!

We had 100 of these vouchers up for grabs and they sold out within 3.5 hours! We couldn’t have hoped for a better response to the promotion.

We are now performing tattoos for those 100 very lucky customers, one by one. Whether it be a small tattoo at a total cost of $150 (so only $25 for the customer) or $150 towards a larger tattoo, or re-work of an existing tattoo, one thing’s for sure, it’s a real bargain!
